  • Tribute Tourney - Leagues of the Month

Last month League Crawler held its second annual Tribute Tournament and it was a huge success.  A little history before I get into the details.  The idea for this tournament first came last year when we pulled 32 players on PS4, 2 players from 16 leagues and pitted them against each other in a semi-sim tournament for bragging rights.  Very cool stuff and SGO's founder won it all!  Since then, I heard over and over from our community that another tournament was needed but that we couldn't leave the XBOX kiddos out in the cold again.  So, this year we held the tournament but on both systems.  That's right, we had two brackets, pulling 56 players from 28 leagues!  Talk about a community event!  For the record, we had representatives from:

    PS4 Bracket

Blind Side, 220 Reloaded, DCA, Madden Nation, Sim Association, Power Sweep, NSFL, Synergy, Madn, Madden Ballers Club, TS4L, PX1, NEFL, MXFL, Rivals and SML.

    XBOX1 Bracket

XCFL Red Zone, Gridiron, EOTP, Red Zone, Madden Scrubs, NSL, Madden Bomber League, Madden Godz, XCFL, SFL and Madden Elite

May 2016 League of the Month - PX1 Sports!

After a long hiatus from League of the Month, I've decided there's simply too much awesome stuff going on and a lot of guys and league that need recognition for the awesome stuff they are doing in the Sports Gaming community.  With that said, it's my pleasure to highlight PX1 Sports as League Crawler's League of the Month for May 2016!  Granted, I haven't known these guys very long, but that's one of the coolest things about League Crawler - discovering and sharing what I'm finding out there in the community.  There are tons of great leagues doing really cool stuff.

  • League Rules - Sliders

League of the Year - League Rules - Sliders
The very first thing that I chose to talk about is not exactly a rule but something that is a constant battle for commissioners that can be better spent building your league. This is the view of the MBL that have provided the best set up and atmosphere for our league. This articles topic is all about the sliders. The reason to why this is an important element to setting up your league is that this issue can cause a lot of leagues to crash before they even reach week eight. Although it may not be the most popular idea, it is something that is fair and can eliminate a lot of argument and issues when a league is in the most sensitive time, the beginning. The settings in which you play your game are clearly a huge part of the game.

  • Three Tips to Improve Your League

Madden NFL - Three Tips to Improve Your League

What’s up CFM Community? This is Bomber, founder and commissioner of the Madden Bomber League, and I am going to give you 3 quick tips that could help you start a successful CFM league, or help you grow your current league.

    EXPECTATIONS

It is important to create expectations for your league right from the start. Expectations do not just start and end with the overall growth of your league, but actually can be used to create guidelines that league members must follow and maintain while participating in your CFM league.

League of the Year - Madden Bomber League

Today is a special day for League Crawler!  For the first time ever, we are proud to take a few moments out to recognize a League of the Year from our community.  League Crawler is all about providing a place for like minded players and commissioners to find one another, promote their leagues, recruit and collaborate.  Along the way we've run into some really great people and have been impressed with what kind of quality is out there in the Madden community.  See, it's easy to start a league, get friends, give it a name, purchase a daddyleagues subscription.  What isn't easy is being so dedicated to a craft that people buy in.  Commit.  Be dedicated.  Be loyal.  Most leagues fail almost overnight.  For you the aspiring league player, it can be difficult to know which league to invest your time in.  That sentiment is precisely why League Crawler exists.

The mission of League Crawler - Connecting the Best People with the Best Leagues - is the reason we're finally ready and very, very proud to name a League of the Year!

  • Customer Loyalty is Priceless

    Customer Loyalty is Priceless

So, what does it take to make a Madden League successful? The obvious answers are members, dedications, owners playing by the rules but if you had to ask most commissioners what they covet, aside from those things is dedication. A really good book to read if you're aspiring to a business career, specifically a small business is Customer Satisfaction is Worthless, Customer Loyalty is Priceless by Jeffery Gitomer. In the book he illustrates that every good business owner must not strive for satisfaction from its customers, it must strive for loyalty. Madden leagues are a business - whether ot not they make money and their customers are the owners they attract, entertain and enjoy. See, any league can attract owners to join. Doubt me? Cruise over to any Facebook recruiting group and read their posts. "PS4 lg starting tonight - no 4th dwn, no chz". Replies from countless gamers pour in - "hit me up, want Jags". Now, I'm no botonist (pun intended) but without science as my ally, I can guess the approximate number of those members turing into solid owners for their respective leagues. Hence League Crawler's existence, but I won't go into that here. The key is buy-in.

  • A Long Overdue Tribute

    A Long Overdue Tribute

So, it's been a few years now since League Crawler started and what a long way we've come already!  Along the way it's been my pleasure to enjoy meeting some really nice, ambitious people in the Madden and in this case, Sports Gaming Online.  I titles this article "A Long Overdue Tribute" because it's a bit tongue in cheek.  Before my normal work schedule side tracked me - some history, I switched jobs from one I had for almost 10 years in an environment where I had free time to build League Crawler to, well, not a whole lot at all.  I'm still adjusting.  Anyway, right about the time my work schedule changed, we held a tournament called the Tribute Tournament.  The idea was exciting - get 16 leagues to send their best two players to the tournament to play and represent their league - hence, tribute.  The winner of that tournament never got his due and frankly, it's all my fault.  Not only does this player deserve to be recognized for his accomplishments on the virtual field, his tireless efforts to supply gamers with really, really good news and info is more than deserving off it.  The winner is of course, MWSTheNatural.

Madden 16 CFM Fumbles First Snap of Season

In what promised to be a potential turning point for Madden, the Madden community once again is waiting for the team at EA Sports to get it right and make good on its promise to deliver a complete game.  I've been a Franchise player since the day I first played Madden and the feature was available.  It remains mine and plenty of other die hard players' favorite mode and one that tends to draw some of the most vocal critics.  The reason?  It's simple really - generally speaking, Madden CFM players are a different breed than lobby or MUT players and tend to want a more complete game with {gasp} LESS glitches and more realistic gameplay.  Single serving players (thanks Tyler Durden), in my opinion, don't much care if the game is fair, complete or realistic.  And for their purposes - why should it be?  Many Madden players are there simply to win, no matter how it happens.  That is, in part, why so many quality Madden leagues exist today.  The Madden community is brimming with people that just want a fun, fair experience and not play against bone heads that quit or exploit the game.

  • League Crawler is still looking for writers!

Hey guys - with Madden season upon us, now is the time League Crawler gets the busiest.  Our main purpose is to provide the sports gaming community (NBA2K, The Show, Madden) a place where you can join and voice your opinion about any player or league you've come in contact with - that hasn't changed.  We do however want to become a bit more than that - hence League of the Month,  our very successful Tribute Tournament, etc.   But - with League Crawler being a place mostly for career/franchise players to belong we'd like to feature more content related to what you're interested in.  We're not a news site - check out sportsgamersonline.com or pastapadre.com for news - they are my goto sources.  We are more niche and need people that love playing in leagues and are innovative in their aporoach.   If you have some awesome things your league does and want to have it featured on League Crawler - we'd love to hear from you.  Also, if you're an aspiring writer and enjoy writing about CFM or NBA2K or whatever - we'd love to feature you as well.   So, if you're interested in writing for League Crawler in any capacity, let me know!
